The Centre has the following tasks:

  1. Develop new procedures
  2. Develop new treatment strategies
  3. Compare new and existing strategies
  4. Optimizing and development of advanced imaging techniques
  5. Study the social, economic, and organisational consequences of new procedures on health care
  6. Administration of radiation protection for all departments in the hospital

Strategy

  • The Interventional Centre is a research and development resource for all the clinical and laboratory departments at Oslo University Hospital.
  • The Centre shall actively offer similar services to the health care community in Norway outside the hospital.
  • The Interventional Centre shall work as a link between technology institutions (commercial and academic) and the clinical medical environment in the hospitals.
  • The Interventional Centre shall promote and work actively to protect new knowledge and facilitate commercial exploitation.
